PRE-GAME CONNECTION CHECK

Call of Duty Internet Test

Lagging in Call of Duty? Check your connection’s latency, jitter and download speed before your next session. Then compare the result with what happens in the game.

Call of Duty connection checklist

If matchmaking fails, check the official table for your exact title and platform. Its TCP/UDP requirements differ; this check cannot detect your NAT or whether those ports are blocked.

Publisher guidance for Call of Duty ↗

Separate matchmaking trouble from match lag

  1. Write down the exact Call of Duty title and platform. Activision lists different TCP/UDP requirements for different entries.
  2. If you can join but matches lag, compare responsiveness and jitter before making port changes. An internet speed test cannot diagnose a port rule.
  3. If you cannot connect, consult the entry for your title and platform in the official table. Do not combine all listed ports into one rule.

What should I look at?

  • Latency: response time to the test endpoint. Compare it with the game’s own ping when available; the destinations differ.
  • Jitter: changing response times can help explain an inconsistent connection.
  • Under-load latency: a rise during transfers suggests downloads or uploads could affect responsiveness.
  • Packet loss: Full attempts this measurement. Unavailable does not mean zero.

Is my internet fast enough for Call of Duty?

A download-speed number alone cannot answer that. Check consistency and compare repeated tests while background transfers are paused. Publisher requirements, your region and the route to the game also matter. Ping2GG’s rating is a general idle-responsiveness indicator, not a publisher pass/fail requirement.

If only Call of Duty is having trouble

Check official service status, note the exact error and compare another session. Use the publisher checklist above for your platform. This browser test does not detect NAT type or prove that a game port is open.
